Amray SEM Project Amray AMR-1000 Scanning electron microscope The goal of this project is to restore and update an older Amray AMR-1000 scanning electron microscope to a modern work flow. This means using a digital to analog generator to bypass some of the scan generators and replacing the polaroid camera used to record images with a direct electronic read out of the image in real time.

I am making the code I am developing to run the microscope available under and open source license and hosted on github. I’m writing it in python 3.3 with a TkInter GUI. The code is running on WinXP with the National Instruments NIDAQ drivers. For my DAQ hardware I am using a National Instruments DAQPAD-1200.

In addition I will be going through the electronics of this microscope making repairs.
